In-stream and in-banner are the two major types of video ads in digital advertising.

In-banner video ads are a form of out-stream. They essentially are banners with videos embedded in them. They are usually available on a wide range of placements.

In-stream video ads are within the video player itself and are injected into the stream that is being sent to the user’s video player. They run before (pre-roll), during (mid-roll) or after (post-roll) a video. The ads are served in the same player as the video being viewed and are comparable to the commercial TV breaks. They usually play for 15 – 30 seconds.

The Bucksense console allows you to run both in-stream and in-banner video campaigns. Video ads can be created in the Video Creatives section by choosing between VAST or direct upload (if you don’t have an ad server). See more here.

Once you have uploaded your video ads, you can create video campaigns and specify the formats (in-banner and in-stream). See details here.
